From One Workout to a Whole Movement: The Story Behind Coolia

It all started with a sweaty pair of socks. 

In July 2023, Coolia founder Dallas Powers had just wrapped up an intense bootcamp class. Like so many other workouts before, she was drenched in sweat and she had seriously had enough of the fact that her socks and activewear didn’t perform with her!  It left her hot, sticky, and uncomfortable. That was the moment everything changed.

“I looked at my friend and said, ‘Have you ever heard of cooling socks?’ She said no. And I said, ‘I’m going to invent some.’ That was it—Coolia was born.”

What started as an idea for better socks quickly turned into something much bigger. Through rigorous testing and fabric experimentation, Dallas developed a fabric composition that didn’t just work for socks, it was a game changer for all activewear. The focus? Sweat-wicking, odor control, breathability, softness, and staying cool all while being eco-friendly, antibacterial, and durable.

Building the Brand, One Step at a Time

Since that spark in the gym, Dallas has spent countless hours researching textiles, working with manufacturers, gathering feedback from fellow fitness lovers, and perfecting the designs. (see photo below) Today, Coolia offers a growing line of activewear, including men’s shorts and tanks in two colours, women’s tanks and biker shorts in two colours, and a newly released pair of leggings - with even more styles on the horizon!

And here’s the best part: Coolia is proudly made and manufactured in Canada. From concept to creation, every piece is designed with purpose, and tested to keep up with your movement.
